Dear Homer's:

This past week a relative of mine and I stopped by your diner for a bite to eat just before lunch on a Sunday afternoon. My first impression was a cozy place that one from the 80's would go to on a nice afternoon with a friend or two. It was very retro.

As I have been taught, when entering a restaurant, one must first investigate the washrooms, as they can make all the difference in first impressions as well as giving a glimpse into what the sanitation of said restaurant looks like.

After seeing your beautiful washrooms with sparkling porcelain thrones and spotless floors, my acquaintance and I took a seat at the well organized tables. The atmosphere was put into perspective with the juke box rather than a modern radio. While you did maintain the retro feel with checkered floors and red chairs, you also had some more contemporary accommodations such as a flat screen television and an ATM Machine.

After taking in the wonderful decorations, (including a festive bowl of corn kernels nesting the salt and pepper shakers) the waitress came to take our orders. We ordered two coffees, though she seemed slightly annoyed at my question of the chili and eggs being gluten-free, but none the less went into the kitchen to ask. She returned shortly and after ordering the home-style fries and chili omelette without cheese, my companion went to collect the camera from our vehicle and I decided to listen to what other customers had to say about your diner.

Upon listening, I heard the man across the aisle mention someone down the street owning a sign that said "Nothing like home(r's)" and how he wanted to fix it up to help keep your homey eatery in business. This made me think that maybe something was keeping away customers; however, your diner was half full and the coffee was satisfactory. These thoughts soon evaporated as our food arrived and my dinning partner returned, taking note that our food arrived in eight and a half minutes, not to mention we overheard one of your staff comment on how you were one person short due to him being in the reserves, meaning that your workers were indeed giving their all.

The plates were almost overflowing with an abundance of omelette and home-style fries, and for only seven dollars and fifty cents too! Not only was the food for a good price, but it was also so perfectly seasoned that there was no need to add any salt or pepper!

As we left, the cashier made a joke and bid us a good day. All in all, your staff were generous and humorous in the end, and everyone has a bad day where they are easily irritated; especially when it comes to a hypoallergenic teenager; you also gave out a free issue of the town paper which included a spooky story for the upcoming holidays!

Your service was appreciated and we may even come again. The food left a smile on our faces and a full belly for hours, our compliments to your cook.

Sincerely;

A very appreciative customer
